Cinnamon hearts

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp, heaped cornstarch
  • 175 g butter or margarine
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 egg(s)
  • Flour for the work surface
  • Grease for the tray
  • 30 g butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • n. B. Sugar, approx. 2 – 3 tbsp

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Place the flour and cornstarch on the baking board. Cut the butter or margarine into small pieces and sprinkle over the flour along with the sugar, cinnamon, and egg. Using a wide spatula, finely chop the ingredients, then quickly knead into a smooth dough and let it chill for about 30 minutes. Then, on a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to a thickness of about 2 mm and cut out small hearts. Place on a lightly greased baking tray. Melt the butter or margarine and brush over the hearts. Mix the cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle over the hearts. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat) (gas mark 3) for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
