Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 200 g cream cheese (natural cream cheese)
- 50 g butter, soft
- ½ m.-sized onion(s)
- 3 cloves garlic
- salt and pepper
- 1 bag(s) of pretzel(s) (salted pretzel)
- n. B. Paprika powder, sweet
- e.g. spice mix (Fritate apple spice) or Maggi
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes
Finely dice half an onion, season with salt, and let stand, covered, for about 2 hours to release some of the juice. Mix the softened butter with the cream cheese (using a hand mixer) and add the onion and any juices. Peel and press the garlic cloves into the mixture, then season with pepper, paprika, and Fritate apple seasoning or a dash of Maggi. Add a little more salt if desired. Arrange the mixture in a dome shape on a plate and garnish with a few pretzels. Place the remaining pretzels in a basket; they will be used to scoop up the cream cheese mixture. Tip: We also like to eat the garlic cheese on French white bread. Fritate apple seasoning is available at health food stores. It’s also suitable for seasoning various salad dressings.
