Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 6 pork schnitzels
- 5 onions
- Clarified butter
- salt and pepper
- 2 tsp thyme
- 400 ml cream
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Total time approx. 1 day 15 minutes
Cut the schnitzels into 2 or 3 pieces, depending on their size. Peel, halve, and slice the onions. Season the meat generously with salt and pepper (it should look like it’s overseasoned!) and sear it very quickly in hot clarified butter. Remove the meat from the pan and cook the onions in the frying fat. Place the meat in the bottom of an ovenproof dish, sprinkle with thyme, and cover with onions. Continue until all ingredients are used. Pour the cream over the dish (everything must be well covered) and let it marinate in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Place the dish in a cold oven and cook at 150°C for about 2.5 hours. This dish is ideal for guests, as everything needs to be prepared the day before and the cooking time can be adjusted.
