Creamy sauce for vegetables

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 tbsp margarine
  • 2 pinches of flour
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 jar milk
  • Salt
  • nutmeg
  • Maggi

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

e.g. for cauliflower, broccoli etc.

Heat the margarine in a saucepan. Once it’s liquid, add the flour and stir. Immediately afterward, whisk in the milk until all the lumps are gone. Now add the egg yolk and whisk in. Sprinkle with a little salt, then add enough nutmeg and Maggi to achieve the desired flavor. Don’t add too much milk at first. It’s better to wait until the sauce slowly thickens and then add more. If it ends up being too liquid, add a little flour. Tip: It will take a while for the consistency to thicken, so be patient.
