Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Put the flour, milk, egg, salt, 1 tablespoon of sugar and mineral water in a bowl and mix into a dough, let it sit for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, for the vanilla sauce, mix the cornstarch and vanilla sugar with 3 tablespoons of milk until smooth. Bring the remaining milk to a boil. Stir in the mixed cornstarch, bring to a boil and set the sauce aside. Wash and zest the apples, core them and cut the apples into thick slices (about 0.5 cm – 1 cm). Mix the sugar with the cinnamon. Heat enough fat or oil in a pan to cover the bottom well. Dip the apple rings in the batter in batches and fry over medium heat until golden brown on both sides. Drain on kitchen paper. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar while still hot and serve with the vanilla sauce.
