Curd dumplings with strawberry sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 50 g butter
  • 30 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 500 g quark
  • 150 g semolina
  • 20 g breadcrumbs
  • Breadcrumbs and butter for the shell
  • e.g. strawberries
  • Sugar
  • possibly vanilla sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Cream the butter with sugar, salt, and eggs until fluffy. Stir in the quark, semolina, and breadcrumbs, and let stand for at least 30 minutes. Let the dumplings rest in boiling salted water for 10-15 minutes. In the meantime, melt the butter and toast the breadcrumbs. If desired, add sugar at the end and toast briefly. Roll the dumplings in the breadcrumbs. For the strawberry sauce, clean the strawberries and puree them with a little sugar (or vanilla sugar, if desired).
