Currant-cherry jam with vanilla

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 750 g cherry(s), e.g. B. Sweet cherries
  • 750 g currants, red
  • 500 g gelling sugar 3:1
  • 1 pack flavoring (bourbon vanilla)

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Pit and halve the cherries, and remove the currants from the vines. Place the cherries in a large saucepan (fill no more than 1/3 full, otherwise it will quickly boil over) and sprinkle with the preserving sugar. Stir briefly and let stand for 1 hour. Now stir in the vanilla extract and bring to a boil while stirring. Then simmer for 4 minutes. Then pour into sterilized jars, screw on the lids, and place the jars on their lids to cool. This quantity is sufficient for 7-8 230 ml jars.
