Currywurst with fries

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 sausages from the butcher (about 300 g each)
  • 1 can of tomato paste (125 g)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 250 ml orange juice
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 125 ml broth (with instant powder)
  • 2 star anise
  • 8 potatoes (baked potatoes)
  • Fat, for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

with delicious curry sauce

Curry sauce: Sauté tomato paste in olive oil. Add curry powder and cayenne pepper and sauté, then deglaze with orange juice. Stir in granulated stock and bring to a boil. Season with salt, pepper, and star anise and simmer slightly. Thin with water if necessary. Fries: Cut the baked potatoes into strips approximately 2 x 2 cm thick and 8 cm long. Blanch the potato sticks in boiling salted water for 4 minutes. Then fry in the fat until golden brown. Fry the sausages and serve with fries and curry sauce.
