Czech Style Potato Salad

The perfect czech style potato salad recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 kg Waxy potatoes
  • 150 g 1 Stück Sellerie / geputzt
  • 150 g 3 Möhren
  • 100 g 2 Petersilienwurzeln
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 300 g Meat sausage
  • 200 g Gherkins
  • 150 g 2 Zwiebeln
  • 100 g Peas frozen
  • 3 piece Hard-Boiled eggs
  • 200 g Mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Medium hot mustard
  • 4 tbsp Milk
  • 4 big pinches Coarse sea salt from the mill
  • Parsley for garnish
  1. Wash potatoes. Clean the celery. Peel the carrots and parsley roots with the peeler. Cook the potatoes with celery, carrots and parsley roots in salted water (1 teaspoon) for about 20 minutes. But take out the vegetables after 15 minutes. In the meantime, boil the eggs hard, quench and peel them off. Dice the meat sausage and pickles. Peel and dice the onions. Put all ingredients (frozen peas, diced meat sausage, diced cucumber and diced onions in a large bowl. Press / dice the eggs through a special sieve. Add mayonnaise (200 g), salt (1 teaspoon) and medium-hot mustard (1 teaspoon) and everything is good After 15 minutes, take the celery, carrots and parsley root out of the pot. Dice small and add to the bowl and mix well. Drain the potatoes, peel them off and allow to cool well. Press the cooled potatoes through a special sieve (kitchen utensil) into the salad / Dice and then mix everything well. Add the milk (4 tablespoons) and coarse sea salt from the mill (4 big pinches), mix everything well again, garnish the salad with parsley and refrigerate until the next day.
