The perfect czech potato salad according to drahuse recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 800 g Waxy potatoes
- 2 Carrots approx. 150 g
- 1 piece Celery approx. 100 g
- 2 Onions approx. 100 g
- 200 g Gherkins
- 300 g Ham and meat sausage
- 3 Hard-Boiled eggs
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Medium hot mustard
- 200 g Delicacy Mayonnaise (Here: Von Appel)
- 1 Stalk Parsley for garnish
- Peel the carrots and clean the celery. Boil both in salted water (1 teaspoon salt) for about 6 minutes, drain, let cool down a little and cut into small cubes. Wash potatoes, cook in salted water (1 teaspoon salt) for about 20 minutes, drain, let cool down a little, peel and cut in half. The potatoes should now cool down very well before they are processed further. Peel the onions and finely dice them. Cut the potatoes and the boiled eggs very finely and add them. Add mayonnaise (200 – 250 g), mix everything carefully and mix well and refrigerate until serving. Take out of the fridge an hour before serving. The Czech potato salad is often served for Christmas or New Year’s Eve in the Czech Republic and tastes good with sausages, schnitzel, meatballs or very, very good with carp.
