Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 bag of cevapcici (frozen), thawed
  • 4 tbsp Ajvar, mild or hot
  • 250 g bell pepper(s), cut into strips
  • 1 onion(s), cut into strips
  • 1 cup cream or sour cream
  • salt and pepper
  • some oil for frying

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Cut the thawed cevapcici in half to create smaller pieces (you can also use fresh ones if you like!). Fry them in a pan with a little oil. Drain off any excess fat and keep the cevapcici pieces warm in a bowl. Sauté the sliced ​​bell pepper and onion in a little oil. Then add 4-6 tablespoons of ajvar (you can use a little more or less, depending on your taste and how thick you want your sauce) and 1 cup of cream or sour cream. Stir well and bring to a boil. Return the cevapcici pieces to the pan and heat through again. Season to taste with salt and pepper. We enjoy this with baguette or rice and a crisp salad.
