Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1,000 g pear(s), ripe, (preferably Abate)
  • 500 g gelling sugar, 2:1
  • 1 vanilla pod(s), pulp
  • 1 pack of citric acid
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 4 minutes; Total time approx. 24 minutes

very intense fruit aroma, simple and without much frills

Wash, peel, and cut the pears into medium-sized pieces. Using a hand blender, blend them in a large saucepan with the vanilla bean pulp, citric acid (this ensures the jam retains its color even during long-term storage and doesn’t brown!), and cinnamon until smooth. Add the gelling sugar and blend again briefly. Rinse 5 jam jars with hot water. Bring the fruit mixture to a boil on the stovetop over high heat, stirring continuously. Once it is bubbling, begin cooking for 4 minutes, stirring continuously. After 4 minutes, remove the pan from the heat and fill the prepared jars with the jam (fill to the brim). Screw the jars tightly shut and let cool upside down. The calorie count below refers to a 20g (2 tsp) serving.
