Dessert: Berry Gratin

The perfect dessert: berry gratin recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Fresh berries e.g. currants, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries
  • 4 tablespoon Raw cane sugar
  • 125 ml Milk
  • 0,5 piece Vanilla pod
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 2 piece Organic egg yolks
  • 125 g Mascarpone
  • 50 g Almond flakes
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Butter
  1. Roast the almond flakes in butter and sugar until golden brown and leave to cool on a board.
  2. Distribute the cleaned and washed berries between two casserole dishes and sprinkle with a tablespoon of raw cane sugar.
  3. Bring the milk with salt, vanilla pod and sugar to the boil. Remove from heat, remove the vanilla pod, add the egg yolks and beat with the whisk over low heat until a thick mass is formed. Remove the vanilla pod and let it cool down.
  4. Stir in the mascarpone and spread the cream over the fruits. Baked in a preheated oven at 180 degrees lower / upper heat for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Sprinkle with the toasted almonds and serve immediately.
  6. Note 6: This dessert tastes excellent even cold out of the refrigerator. But only sprinkle the almonds on top just before serving. Sour cherries are also very suitable for this dessert
