Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g strawberries
- 400 g chocolate coating (dark chocolate coating)
- 1 dashes flavoring (peppermint oil)
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
Wash the strawberries, but leave the stems and leaves on. Pat them dry with kitchen paper, then place them on a large plate and refrigerate for at least an hour. The cooler the fruit, the better the melted chocolate will adhere. Scent the chocolate coating with a little peppermint oil and melt it in a bain-marie. It should be completely melted, but not too hot; around 40 degrees Celsius is the ideal temperature. Hold each strawberry by the stem or leaves and dip it three-quarters full into the chocolate coating. Drain and let dry on baking paper. Once all the strawberries are covered in chocolate, refrigerate for another 30 minutes before serving. P.S. It doesn’t have to be strawberries; you can also cover other fruits (e.g. bananas, pears, apples, or kiwi) with the flavored chocolate.
