Favorite pasta casserole

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large can of tomatoes, peeled
  • 260 g pasta (spaghetti or other)
  • 200 g ham, cooked
  • 150 g cheese (Emmental or Gouda), grated
  • ⅛ liter sweet cream
  • Salt
  • Pepper, freshly ground
  • marjoram
  • some olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel and finely chop the garlic clove(s). Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan and lightly fry the garlic. Add the tomatoes and crush lightly. Season the sauce generously with salt, pepper, and marjoram (some of the seasoning always gets lost in the oven, otherwise the casserole will taste bland) and let it thicken slightly over high heat. Meanwhile, cook the pasta until al dente, drain, rinse briefly with cold water, and let drain. While the pasta is cooking, dice the cooked ham. Grease a casserole dish well (I use olive oil for this as well), add half of the pasta, sprinkle with half of the ham, and some of the grated cheese. Now add the remaining pasta. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the pasta and top with the other half of the ham cubes. Pour over the cream (you can use milk instead—it tastes just as good!), sprinkle with the remaining grated cheese, and finally, drizzle with a little more olive oil. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes. Quite simple, but very, very tasty!
