Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 15 figs, dried
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 1 tsp, smothered cinnamon
  • n. B. Mastic, if available
  • 1 vanilla sugar
  • ½ mandarin orange(s), peeled rind
  • some walnut halves
  • some pistachios

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 8 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 18 minutes

gluten-free

Chop the figs, pour boiling water over them, let them steep for 5 minutes, and then drain. Bring the milk to a boil with the cinnamon, vanilla sugar, and mandarin zest and add the drained figs. Boil for 5 minutes. Blend with a hand blender until creamy and cook for another 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and serve in serving bowls. Garnish with pistachios and/or walnuts.
