Freeze quark – you should pay attention to that
When you freeze quark, you should consider the following:
- Only freeze cottage cheese in its packaging. For health reasons, it is better not to freeze quark that has already been opened or prepared.
- The quark will keep in the freezer for about 3 months. However, you should not store quarks for much longer.
- The quark can change slightly as a result of freezing and subsequent thawing. Slowly thaw the curd in the refrigerator; at room temperature germs can form too quickly.
- Some of the water in the quark separates from the milk mass, which makes the quark a little more liquid. Freezing and thawing can also result in small pieces in the quark. However, this does not affect the taste or the edibility of the quark. In this case, simply take a whisk and stir the quark until creamy again. A dash of cream or milk can also help.
