French toast rolls with Nutella and strawberries

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 slice(s) white toast
  • 100 g sugar, brown
  • 1 egg(s)
  • some Nutella
  • some mascarpone
  • some strawberries

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

A slightly different sweet breakfast or a snack. A simple recipe with a big impact.

Carefully remove the crust from the toast using a sharp knife and flatten the slices with a rolling pin. Spread one side with Nutella and mascarpone, if desired, and top with strawberries (you can use other fruits if you like; I also like bananas). Shape each slice into a roll. Crack an egg into a bowl and whisk, then place the sugar on a flat plate. Then roll the slices first in the egg and then in the brown sugar. Melt a little butter in a hot pan, add the slices, and fry, turning constantly. When the sugar begins to caramelize, the slices are done. If you like, you can garnish the slices with fresh fruit, Nutella, and a dusting of powdered sugar.
