French toast with Caprese

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 roll or 2 slices of white bread
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • curry powder
  • Oil, for frying
  • 1 tomato(s)
  • Mozzarella
  • basil
  • olive oil
  • Balsamic vinegar, dark

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Cut the bread roll in half. Crack the egg into a small bowl and whisk it with the milk. Season the egg white with salt, pepper, paprika, and curry powder. Soak each bread half in the milk for a while. Heat oil in a pan and fry the bread rolls (do not overheat, or they will turn brown too quickly), slightly flattening them. Place the bread rolls on a plate and place three slices of tomato (depending on the size of the roll) on each half and a slice of mozzarella on each tomato slice. Drizzle with a little dark balsamic vinegar and olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Grill in the oven at 180°C for 10-15 minutes. Garnish with basil before serving.
