German Apple Cake

  • 750 g Apples (sour, juicy, e.g. Elstar)
  • Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • 200 g Butter
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 3 Pc. Eggs
  • 1 Pc. Organic lemon
  • 1 Msp Salt
  • 150 g Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 80 g Food starch
  • 20 g Butter
  • 20 g Sugar
  • 1 packet Flaked almonds
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  1. Peel the apples and cut into thin wedges. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon, mix well and let it steep. Preheat the oven to 160 ° C.
  2. Beat the butter and sugar until whitishly frothy, add eggs one by one and stir in each time. Mix a little grated lemon zest, salt, flour, baking powder and cornstarch and fold into the batter.
  3. Grease the baking pan and dust with flour. Pour in the dough and smooth it out. Spread the apples on the surface so that the batter is completely covered. Put the form in the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
