The amount of ginger depends on whether you want the tea to be mild or hotter. If you like it hot, go for the higher end. Peel the ginger and cut it into tiny cubes or grate it. Gently press the cinnamon stick with the back of a knife or a hard object until it cracks. Do the same with the cardamom seeds so they release their aroma more easily in the hot water. Place the ingredients in a preheated teapot. Bring the water to a boil and wait briefly until it stops bubbling, then pour it into the teapot. Let it steep for at least 10 minutes. Pour the tea into mugs and season to taste with cream or milk, honey, rock candy, or maple syrup. Instead of cinnamon sticks, you can also add cinnamon powder to the finished tea.
