Grilled tomatoes

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 6 tomatoes
  • n. B. Salt
  • n. B. Pfeffer
  • n. B. Herbs of Provence
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 25 g butter
  • 30 g cheese, grated medium-aged Gouda
  • Fat, for the shape

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Preheat the oven. Wash and dry the tomatoes, and remove the stems. Halve the tomatoes and place them cut-side up in a greased baking dish. Season the tomatoes with salt, pepper, and herbs. Peel and press the garlic, and scatter it over the tomatoes. Sprinkle the butter in small pieces over the tomatoes. Sprinkle the cheese over the top. Place the dish in the oven under the grill and grill for 15 minutes. Serve as a side dish with grilled meat and fish. If you don’t have a grill, you can also bake the tomatoes for 15 minutes. Conventional heat: approximately 220°C, fan oven: approximately 200°C, gas mark 4-5.
