Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g lamb
  • 250 g beef
  • 3 carrots
  • 4 potatoes
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 350 ml meat broth
  • 25 g butter
  • 2 tbsp tomato puree
  • ½ tbsp sugar
  • 300 ml beer (Guiness beer)
  • 1 bunch of herbs (bouquet garni)
  • some Tabasco
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Dice the meat. Halve and slice the carrots and onions. Dice the potatoes. Melt the butter in a pan and brown the meat in batches on all sides. Keep the meat warm and sauté the carrots and onions until translucent. Return the meat to the pan and sprinkle with the flour. Stir everything well and allow the flour to thicken. Then add the stock, tomato puree, sugar and the bouquet garni, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium, add Guinness (or wine) and potatoes, and simmer gently for 1 to 1.5 hours. Season with a few drops of Tabasco. Remove the bouquet garni before serving.
