Gyros with white wine

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g pork (gyros)
  • 375 ml dry white wine
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 2 yellow bell peppers
  • 100 ml cream
  • 1 tbsp sweet mustard
  • Fat, for frying
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • Sugar
  • roux, brown

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Slice the onion into rings and sear it in the drippings with the gyro. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and a little sugar. Add the sliced ​​bell peppers and fry briefly while stirring. Deglaze with white wine and simmer for about 10 minutes. Stir in the cream and mustard and thicken with a brown roux. Serve with potatoes, rice, or baguette.
