Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g pork (gyros)
- 375 ml dry white wine
- 1 large onion(s)
- 2 yellow bell peppers
- 100 ml cream
- 1 tbsp sweet mustard
- Fat, for frying
- salt and pepper
- Paprika powder
- Sugar
- roux, brown
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Slice the onion into rings and sear it in the drippings with the gyro. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and a little sugar. Add the sliced bell peppers and fry briefly while stirring. Deglaze with white wine and simmer for about 10 minutes. Stir in the cream and mustard and thicken with a brown roux. Serve with potatoes, rice, or baguette.
