Hack Puff Pastry and Pepper Strudel

  • 1 packet Puff pastry
  • 1 piece Onion
  • 2 piece Red and green peppers
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 400 g Ground beef
  • 1 piece Egg
  • 2 tbsp Tomato ketchup
  • 150 g Grated Emmental
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 piece Egg yolk
  • Black pepper from the mill


  • Preheat the oven to 220 ° C top / bottom heat.
  • Roll out the defrosted puff pastry into a rectangle of approx. 30 x 40 cm.
  • Finely chop the onion, wash, clean and finely dice the peppers and sauté both in 2 tablespoons of oil for 10 minutes.
  • Mix the minced meat with the egg, salt, pepper and tomato ketchup.
  • Drain the steamed vegetables. Then mix the vegetables into the minced meat and spread the meat dough evenly on the puff pastry.
  • 7. Dice the piece of Emmental very finely and then sprinkle it on the meat dough and roll up the puff pastry.
  • 8. Brush the strudel with egg yolk and press the edges together firmly.
  • 9. Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and slide into the preheated oven.
  • 10. Bake the strudel for 10 minutes at 220 degrees, then switch down to 175 degrees and bake for another 25 minutes.
