Halloween Meatloaf – Cauliflower Bomb

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 cauliflower, diameter approx. 15 cm
  • 1 kg minced meat, mixed
  • 150 ml sauce (Puszta sauce)
  • 150 g bacon slices
  • 100 g cheese, grated
  • 1 roll (Weck)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • Salt and pepper from the mill
  • Paprika powder
  • Cayenne pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Soak the bread roll in water, squeeze out any excess water, and then mix it into the minced meat. Season the minced meat with salt, pepper, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Add the finely chopped onion and egg, and mix thoroughly. Remove the leaves and stalk from the cauliflower and wash the head. Fill the inside of the cauliflower with the sauce and cover with grated cheese. Coat the cauliflower with the minced meat mixture, starting with the cheese so the sauce and cheese mixture can’t run out. This will keep the cauliflower relatively firm to the bite. If you prefer it softer, pre-cook it in salted water. Place the coated cauliflower in a baking dish and cover again with the bacon slices. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius (top/bottom heat) for one hour.
