Hearty vegetable soup

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 2 liters of water
  • 3 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 400 g vegetables (Kaisergemüse), frozen
  • 170 g smoked pork, diced
  • 2 tsp thyme
  • 1 tbsp allspice
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 3 small cloves
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp herb cream cheese
  • 1 tsp sambal oelek

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

low in calories, very filling

Cut the potatoes into medium-sized cubes and simmer in the broth with the remaining spices. Once the potatoes are cooked, add the diced meat. Simmer for another 5 minutes. Remove the bay leaves, allspice berries, and cloves and add the vegetables. Cook for longer or shorter depending on how tender you want the vegetables to be. Finally, stir in the cream cheese and, if desired, the sambal oelek. Serve hot.
