Ingredients

  • 400 g Rye flour
  • 21 g ½ packet of yeast
  • 2 cups 1-2 cups of warm water
  • 0,5 tsp Salt
  • 0,5 tsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil

Instructions

  • Dissolve the yeast in warm water (1 cup). Mix flour (400 g) with salt (½ teaspoon) and sugar (½ teaspoon) and add the dissolved yeast and olive oil (2 tablespoons). Knead everything well with your hands. Should make a smooth batter. Otherwise you might add more warm water. Then knead the dough vigorously on a floured work surface / board for approx. 8 - 10 minutes and cover it in a warm place for approx. 1 hour. Then knead / work the dough again and shape into a loaf of bread. Dust with flour and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and let rise for another 20 minutes. In the meantime, preheat the oven to 200 ° C. Bake the bread in the oven for approx. 100 - 120 minutes until golden-brown and then let it cool down. The fresh farmer's bread tastes best with butter and salt!
