Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g flour
  • 150 g butter, soft
  • 60 g candied orange peel
  • 4 eggs
  • 150 g beet syrup
  • 100 g liquid honey
  • 2 tbsp cane sugar
  • 2 tbsp rum
  • 3 tsp gingerbread spice
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • some butter for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Cream the butter until fluffy, then add the eggs one at a time. Add the sugar beet syrup, honey, sugar, rum, and gingerbread spice. Mix the flour with the baking powder and stir into the butter and egg mixture. Fold in the candied orange peel. Grease a 25 cm loaf pan with butter and pour the mixture into it. Bake for about 60 minutes at 160 degrees Celsius.
