Jam strudel or war strudel

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 850 g flour
  • 200 g sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 300 ml milk
  • 130 g lard
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • n. B. Jam, variety of your choice, for the filling

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Knead all ingredients into a dough. The dough will be very soft and somewhat sticky, but it shouldn’t stick to your fingers or the surface. Divide the dough into two pieces. Roll each piece out into a rectangle and spread with jam. Then roll each piece into a strudel. Since the jam tends to run out, I place the two strudels in a square roasting or casserole dish. Bake at 200°C (top and bottom heat) for 60 minutes.
