Leberkäse roulades

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 800 g leek
  • 30 g butter
  • salt and pepper
  • Soy sauce
  • 8 slice(s) Leberkäse (3 mm thick) or cooked ham
  • 150 g cheese (Gouda), grated
  • 1 tbsp parsley
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Trim the leeks, removing the dark green parts and the root ends. Cut the stalks lengthwise and wash them. Cut into 2-3 cm long pieces. Sauté with butter in a covered pan for 5 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, nutmeg, and soy sauce. Place some of the leek on each slice of Leberkäse, sprinkle with some of the grated cheese, roll up the slices, secure with toothpicks, and place side by side in a buttered baking dish. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley and serve with mashed potatoes. TIP: You can also use cooked ham instead of Leberkäse.
