Lemon balm and peppermint drink

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 liters of water
  • 350 g lemon balm
  • 100 g peppermint
  • 2 kg sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest period approx. 2 days; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 2 days 1 hour

Lemon balm and peppermint syrup

Bring sugar and water to a boil, simmer for about 30 minutes, and then turn off. Add lemon balm and peppermint to the boiled sugar water and let it steep for a day. Strain, add more sugar if desired, and bring to a boil again. Pour into warm bottles, then place the filled bottles in hot water and let it cool. Remove when lukewarm and let stand for at least 1 day.
