Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 375 g pasta (macaroni)
- salt and pepper
- 4 tbsp cheese, grated (e.g. Emmental or Gruyère)
- 3 eggs
- Nutmeg, grated
- 2 onions
- 1 garlic clove(s)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 375 g minced beef
- 425 ml tomato(s) , from the can
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 50 g butter
- 50 g flour
- 500 ml milk
- ½ tsp thyme
- ½ bunch parsley, flat

Break the macaroni in half and cook in boiling salted water for about 6 minutes. Whisk the cheese and eggs. Season with pepper and nutmeg. Drain the pasta and mix with the cheese mixture. Chop the onions and garlic. Sauté in the hot oil. Add the minced meat and fry. Roughly chop the canned tomatoes with a knife, add them and season with cinnamon, and simmer for about 10 minutes. Heat the fat. Sauté the flour in it. Stir in the milk and bring to a boil. Season with salt, pepper, and thyme. Chop the parsley and mix in. Place half of the pasta in a greased baking dish. Layer the minced meat and the remaining pasta on top. Pour the sauce over the pasta. Bake in a preheated oven at 225°C for about 40 minutes.
