Make Stick Egg Yourself: Here’s How

Stangenei – that’s what’s behind it

The stick egg is rather unknown in the private sector, but very common in gastronomy and the food industry.

  • Behind the art term, stick egg hides the egg, but not just an egg. To craft a stick egg, you need a larger number of eggs.
  • Aside from the shape, the stuck egg looks just like a regular egg. The egg white is on the outside and the yolk is on the inside.
  • The stick egg was created primarily for businesses that require large quantities of hard-boiled eggs.
  • The annoying and time-consuming peeling of the egg is no longer necessary with the stick egg. In addition, due to its elongated shape, the stick egg can be cut into uniform slices much more quickly and easily. The stick eggs are used, for example, for salads or sandwiches.

This is how the stuck egg succeeds

For the private sector, stick eggs are a funny eye-catcher as a party gag.

  • In addition to some time, you will need eggs, a heat-resistant jar, and a tube. The tube must be at least as long as the glass container and significantly smaller in circumference. The glass can be, for example, a vase that is not too thin or a long glass. Of course, how many eggs you use depends on how long you want your stick egg to be.
  • First, put water in a tall pot. Place the glass container in the water so that it gets used to the rising temperature.
  • While the water is heating, separate the egg whites from the yolks. Once the water is boiling, pour the egg whites into the glass container. Put a small lid on the jar and let the egg whites simmer in the hot water for about 30 minutes.
  • Once the egg whites have set, remove the container from the water. Now you need to create interior space for the yolk. To do this, insert the tube in the middle and pull out the egg white.
  • Then pour the egg yolk into the middle area that has been freed up. Then the glass container comes back into the hot water.
  • Cover the container with a lid and let it cook again for about 30 to 40 minutes. Once the yolk has hardened as well, remove the glass container from the water.
  • Finally, carefully slide the stuck egg out of the container and the party gag is complete.
  • Tip: If your stick egg doesn’t leave the jar voluntarily, gently tap the bottom. In a pinch, you’ll need to pull the stuck egg out of the jar with a second tube. However, this should not be much smaller than the glass container, otherwise, you will lose too much of the egg.
