Matjes sandwich with cucumbers

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 rolls (walnut rolls)
  • 2 herring fillets
  • 6 slice(s) cucumber(s), thinly sliced
  • ½ onion(s), thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Balsamic vinegar Bianco
  • 1 tsp, leveled garlic salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

First, prepare the sauce. To do this, combine the mayonnaise, balsamic vinegar, and garlic salt in a blender. Then, cut the walnut rolls in half and spread the sauce on both sides using a teaspoon. Now, halve the herring fillets and place two halves on each of the bottom halves of the roll. Add the onions and cucumbers. Cover with the top half. A light Frisian beer goes well with this. A dark beer also works well, depending on your taste. Variation: Natural yogurt can be used instead of the mayonnaise.
