Meatballs in Sesame Sauce
The perfect meatballs in sesame sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 500 g Mixed minced meat
- 1 stale, soaked Bun
- 1 Egg
- 4 grated Garlic cloves
- 1 Lime, the zest
- Black pepper from the mill
- Salt
- 2 tbsp Sesame oil
- 100 g Sugar
- 2 tbsp Water
- 100 ml Vegetable broth
- 80 ml Soy sauce dark
- 2 tsp Honey
- 30 ml Rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp Tomato paste
- 60 g Sesame
- 1 tbsp Strength
- 0,5 bunch Spring onions cut into thin rings
- 1 Shallot, finely diced
- Knead the minced meat together with the squeezed out bun, the egg, two grated cloves of garlic, the shallot, the lime zest and enough salt and pepper to form a homogeneous dough. Spread the sesame oil on an ovenproof dish and form small balls out of the minced meat, place in the ovenproof dish and bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 25 – 30 minutes.
- For the sauce, put 100 g sugar together with 2 tablespoons water in a saucepan, stir and simmer to a light caramel. Then deglaze with the vegetable stock and soy sauce and cook while stirring until the caramel has dissolved again. Now add the remaining grated garlic cloves, tomato paste, honey and rice vinegar and put on the lowest level and stir everything well. Let everything simmer gently for about 15 minutes.
- Then stir the cornstarch with a little water and use it to thicken the sauce and now add the sesame seeds. Now take the meatballs out of the oven and add them to the sauce with the gravy. Turn off the stove, put the lid on and let it stand for 5 minutes.
- Then serve the meatballs with rice and sprinkle with the spring onions. We had a salad with it.
