Meatballs with Plum Sauce

The perfect meatballs with plum sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

For the meatballs

  • 800 g Mixed minced meat
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Roll from the day before
  • 1 Fresh onion
  • 1 Garlic cloves chopped
  • Salt
  • Black pepper from the mill
  • Thyme
  • Cayenne powder
  • Breadcrumbs

For the plum sauce

  • 200 g Plums
  • 30 g Ginger
  • 2 Garlic cloves pressed
  • 200 ml White wine
  • 4 tbsp Sherry
  • 4 tbsp Soy sauce dark
  • 2 tsp Forest honey liquid
  • 0,25 bunch Lemon balm fresh
  • Salt
  • Sugar

For the meatballs

  1. Put the minced meat with the soaked rolls and eggs in a bowl. Finely chop the garlic and onion, add to the mince and knead vigorously. Season everything and bind with breadcrumbs. Shape the mince into meatballs and cook in a pan.

For the plum sauce

  1. Wash, halve and stone the plums. Peel and grate the ginger. Peel and grate 2 cloves of garlic. Heat 200 ml of water and white wine. Add the plums, ginger, garlic and sherry. Let everything boil down. Stir in the soy sauce and forest honey. Wash and dry lemon balm and pluck off the leaves and stir into the sauce. Possibly thicken the sauce a little and season with salt and sugar. Bon Appetit!
