The perfect meatballs in tomato curry sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 600 g Minced meat
  • 100 g Yellow or red lentils
  • 850 ml Canned peeled tomatoes
  • 400 ml Coconut milk
  • 1 tsp Red curry paste
  • 2 tsp Garam masala
  • Salt and pepper
  • Oil for frying
  • 2 Pc. Spring onion
  • 150 g Creme fraiche Cheese
  1. Boil the lentils in boiling water (without salt) for about 10 minutes, then drain and rinse. Season the minced meat with garam masala and salt. Add the lentils to the mince and knead everything well. Shape the minced dough into small balls. Fry these in a large pan with oil on all sides for about 10 minutes.
  2. In the meantime, puree the tomatoes including the juice, the coconut milk with the curry paste, either in the blender or with the hand blender, and season with salt.
  3. After the balls are well cooked, add the tomato sauce. Bring the sauce to the boil and let it simmer again for about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, cut the laughing onions into rolls.
  4. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste. Spread the créme fraîche over the meatballs and sprinkle with the spring onions.
