Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 onion(s)
  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 75 g cheese (Appenzeller)
  • ½ bunch thyme
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

with Appenzeller

Dice the onion. Mix the minced meat with the onions, egg, breadcrumbs, and tomato paste, and season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Dice the cheese and tear the thyme leaves. Mix the cheese and thyme. Form 8 dumplings from the minced meat mixture and flatten them. Place the cheese cubes in the center, enclose the minced meat, and form into meatballs. Heat the oil and fry the meatballs over medium heat for 15 minutes, turning occasionally. When eaten warm, the cheese oozes out beautifully! Goes well with peperonata and potatoes or mashed potatoes with fried onions.
