Microwave cheese

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g cheese (Harzer), hand cheese
  • 1 pack of processed cheese
  • 250 g quark, 40%
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1 egg yolk

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Cut the Harzer cheese into small pieces and mix with the processed cheese. Now place the ingredients in a suitable bowl in the microwave. Leave in the microwave until a homogenous mixture forms. Cook for several minutes at around 600-800 watts. To check, remove the cheese from the microwave every now and then, stir, and then put it back in the microwave. The smaller the Harzer cheese is cut, the better and faster it will melt. Important: Stir frequently to test how long the processed cheese needs to melt. It’s best to put a lid on the bowl. Once the mixture has a homogenous mixture, remove it from the microwave and, while it’s still warm, add the quark and then the cream and mix well. Finally, stir in an egg yolk. This will give the processed cheese a nicer color.
