Minced meat bread casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 bunch of leeks
  • 200 g mushrooms
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 400 g minced meat
  • 8 slices of toast
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 3 eggs
  • 50 g cheese, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Crush the garlic and mix with the butter. Wash and trim the leeks and finely slice them. Chop the mushrooms and parsley. Sauté the leeks in oil, add the minced meat, parsley, and mushrooms, season with salt and pepper, and roast for 15 minutes. Toast the bread, spread with garlic butter, and place 4 slices in a buttered dish. Mix 4 tablespoons of cream into the minced meat. Separate the eggs and beat the egg whites until stiff. Whisk the remaining cream with the egg yolks and cheese, then fold in the beaten egg whites. Spread 1/3 of the cheese cream and the meat on the bread, then top with the remaining bread and cream. Bake at 175°C for about 45 minutes.
