Upper Austrian specialty

Melt the butter, knead it with the remaining ingredients until smooth, and let it rest for half an hour. Then roll out the dough thinly and cut out small rectangles or circles. Place on a prepared baking sheet, brush with water, and sprinkle with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, coarse salt, or grated cheese, depending on your preference. Prick with a fork before baking and bake at 180°C for about 20 minutes. The dough is best rolled out using a pasta machine. This produces even, thin pieces of dough. The dough can also be seasoned with spices, such as curry, paprika, or chili.
