Ingredients for 20 servings:
- 300 ml wine (mulled wine)
- 250 g margarine
- 250 g sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
- 4 eggs
- 250 g flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 150 g chocolate shavings
- 250 g powdered sugar
- 80 g almond(s), chopped
- 2 tbsp chocolate shavings
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
For the dough, beat the room-temperature margarine with the sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy, then gradually add the eggs. Mix the flour with the baking powder, sift, and fold in spoonful by spoonful, alternating with 250 ml of mulled wine and finally the chocolate shavings. Spread onto a baking tray lined with baking paper or greased with baking paper. Oven temperature: Preheated to 175°C (fan oven just under 160°C, gas mark 2). Baking time: approx. 25-30 minutes. Meanwhile, toast the almonds in a dry pan. Mix the remaining mulled wine with the sifted icing sugar and spread over the cake. Immediately sprinkle with the almonds and the remaining chocolate shavings. Once cooled, cut into triangles.
