Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 eggs
  • 300 g sour cream
  • 1 ½ cup(s) sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder, Russian (baking soda)
  • 3 tsp vinegar essence
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • ½ cup poppy seeds
  • ½ cup walnuts
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Before you begin, you will need 3 equal-sized bowls. In each bowl, add 1 egg, 100g sour cream, 0.5 cups sugar, 1/3 tsp Russian baking powder mixed with 1 tsp vinegar, and 0.5 cup flour; and mix everything well. Add 0.5 cup poppy seeds to the first mixture and mix. Add 1 tbsp cocoa to the second mixture and mix. Add 0.5 cup walnuts to the third mixture and mix. Bake each batter separately at 200°C (test with a toothpick). Make the cream to your taste: 1st option: 1 can of Milchmädchen (milk cream), boiled for 2 hours, mixed with 250g butter. 2nd option: Whip 400ml whipping cream with 2 tbsp sugar and 2 sachets of vanilla sugar until stiff peaks form. Spread the cream on the cake layers. Stack the layers on top of each other and let them sit for a while. Any other type of cream can also be used.
