Oatcakes, they taste like the American Hobbits

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 g flour (wholemeal flour)
  • 50 g whole grain flakes (coarsely ground multigrain flakes)
  • 50 g edible bran (oat bran)
  • 25 g cane sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 100 g butter
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 100 g chocolate (milk chocolate), melted

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

makes about 30 cookies

Combine the flour with the flakes, bran, baking powder, and sugar. Rub the mixture into the butter with your fingers until crumbly. Add the milk and quickly knead everything into a dough. Roll out the dough between two layers of plastic wrap to a thickness of 0.5 cm. Cut out circles using a round cookie cutter and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 15 minutes. Cover with melted chocolate. Tip: A friend said they taste best when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. I haven’t tried that yet, though.
