Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g onion(s)
  • 5 slice(s) of breakfast bacon or 1 package of ham cubes
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 150 ml cream
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch(s) of caraway powder
  • 1 bunch of chives
  • Fat for the mold
  • 1 pack of pizza dough from the refrigerated section

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

little effort, thanks to ready-made pizza dough

Slice the onions into thin rings. Fry the bacon, add the oil, and fry the onion rings until translucent and light yellow. They shouldn’t overbrown. Whisk together the eggs, cream, salt, pepper, and caraway powder. Rinse the chives, cut them into rings, and stir them in. Grease a 26 cm springform pan and line it with the pizza dough. The edges should be about 3 cm high. Mix the now slightly cooled onion and bacon mixture with the egg cream, spread everything over the dough, and smooth it down. Bake the onion tart in a preheated oven at 200 °C (top/bottom heat) on the middle rack for 35-40 minutes. Serve while still warm.
