Onion Pie – Tray
The perfect onion pie – tray recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
Pizza dough or quiche dough, fluffy:
- 20 g Potato flour
- 100 g Flour, type 550, strong for baking
- 50 g Oat flakes or oatmeal
- 1 packet Dry yeast
- 0,1 l Milk
- 0,2 l Water or vegetable stock, warm
- 1 tsp Oregano (wild marjoram) spice
- 1 pinch Black pepper from the mill
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 tbsp Oil
Covering:
- 200 g Quark, 40%
- 200 g Yogurt 10% fat
- 2 Piece Freshly sliced onion, red or white
- 100 g Smoked ham cubes
- 1 piece Spring onions fresh, sliced
- 2 piece Eggs
- 1 tsp Dried basil
- 1 tbsp Sweet peppers, to sprinkle on
- 2 piece Turkey breast slices, cut into strips
- 1 tbsp Seasonal herbs
- 3 piece Cheese slices, cut for topping.
The yeast dough:
- Mix the ingredients together and shape into a round mass, leave in a warm place for about 30 minutes until it has grown larger. Now knead again with a little more flour and spread evenly on a baking sheet with baking paper. 5 minutes prebake.
The topping:
- Fry the onions and the diced ham, stir with the eggs and the remaining ingredients and apply them to the dough surface. Finally distribute the cheese on top.
Baking time:
- In a preheated electric oven, the baking time for pre-baking the dough is approx. 5 minutes and after topping it is approx. 20-30 minutes, or you can extend it yourself, depending on the thickness of the dough and topping.
