Orange Caramel Nuts

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g nuts, of your choice
  • 150 g brown cane sugar
  • 1 orange(s), zest thereof, or 1 pack of orange zest
  • 1 tsp gingerbread spice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Combine the sugar with 2 tablespoons of water in a saucepan and bring to a boil until a thick syrup forms. Then add the orange zest and gingerbread spice. Then add the nuts and caramelize briefly. Spread everything on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, dust with cinnamon, and let cool. You can now break the orange caramel nuts into various sized pieces and package them in tins or bags, give them as gifts, or enjoy them yourself!
