  • 1,000 ml milk
  • 100 g dark chocolate 70% cocoa
  • 30 g sugar
  • 1 orange(s), the juice

  • Chocolate shavings for decoration
  • Orange peel, grated for decoration (from unsprayed oranges)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Bring the milk to a boil with the scraped vanilla seeds and vanilla pod. Fish out the vanilla pod, scraping off any seeds that are still clinging to it, and add it to the milk. Remove the milk from the heat. Break the chocolate into small pieces and add it to the milk along with the sugar, stirring continuously. Dissolve completely. Meanwhile, reduce the orange juice in a second saucepan by about 2/3. Add the reduced juice and the orange liqueur to the chocolate. Ladle the hot orange chocolate into mugs, garnish with a tablespoon of whipped cream, some grated orange peel, and chocolate shavings, and serve. Omit the orange liqueur if children are sharing.
