Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 6 rolls, stale
- 2 eggs
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 75 g sugar
- 1 packet of pudding powder (vanilla)
- 1 liter of milk
- Fat for the mold
- butter
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes
Poor people’s food
Grease a glass dish, slice the rolls, and place the first layer on the bottom of the dish. Slowly bring the milk, vanilla sugar, and sugar to a boil. Add the eggs and stir in the custard powder over low heat, then simmer for about 5 minutes. Pour some of the sauce over the rolls in the dish and let stand for 10 minutes. Then add the remaining rolls to the dish and place the sliced rolls on top. Pour the remaining sauce over the rolls and let stand for another 5 minutes. Brush a little butter over the ends of the rolls and bake in the oven at 175°C for 20 minutes.
